Bob Cavanagh

Personal counselling

My varied life and work experience enables me to work with people in an accepting and non-judgemental way.

In addition my extensive experience in different organisations as a consultant and manager provides an unusual depth of understanding of workplace issues and problems and how these can people beyond their workplace, creating issues in most important family relationships.

At such times it is not uncommon that unresolved past issues and disempowering patterns of behaviour surface in ways that undermine self-esteem and confidence.

Typical things that people come to me to work through include:

  • Improving relationships and resolving communication issues
  • Skills for dealing with conflict
  • Coping with stress
  • Relieving anxiety and fears
  • Understanding and managing anger
  • Working through sadness and loss
  • Depression, and feelings of ‘not coping’
  • Resolving past guilt
  • Working through confusion and indecision
  • Improving self-esteem and confidence
  • Rediscovering motivation
  • Creating hope for the future
